Institutions Innovation Council(IIC)
IIC is an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India for selected Higher Education Institutes(HEIs).
MHRD has established ‘MHRD’s own Innovation Cell (MIC)’. The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform their idea into prototypes, while they are in formative years.MIC plans to achieve this by systematically fostering the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), by creating individual ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs.A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses.
Mahaveer Institute of Science & Technology (MIST) is a member of MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC). The Institution’s Innovation Council (MIST IIC) aims to streamline and strengthen the innovation and start-up ecosystem in the campus so that the students can develop the skill set which enables critical thinking, design thinking, innovative thought process and encourages an entrepreneurial mindset.

Established in 2001, MIST has rapidly emerged as a leading hub for technological education and research, offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various disciplines. On 21st September 2022, MIST took a significant step towards promoting innovation and entrepreneurial spirit by establishing its Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), led by Dr. V Usha Shree, Principal & Professor of ECE department, Dr. V V Prathibha Bharathi, IIC President, Dr. Nair Sreeja Sivankutty, IIC Convenor, M.Mrudula, co-ordinatorcontributes as an active member enriching the Institution's Innovative ecosystem.

Mission
The primary mission of the Institution's Innovation Council is to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship among students, faculty, and staff, through various initiatives, workshops, seminars, and competitions.
